This weekend offers lots of free and cheap fun for families, including a festival and music. There are also opportunities to get free tax help and free dental services for the kiddos.

Chinese New Year

The Chinese Arts Alliance of Nashville is having its free Chinese New Year celebration from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday in Vanderbilt University's Corner Park between 21st Avenue South and Blakemore Avenue.

This is a colorful festival that will conclude with the rippling 60-foot dragon leading a parade through Hillsboro Village. There will also be professional jugglers, bamboo dancing, Chinese fan dance and other actives to welcome the new year.

There will be Chinese food from Lucky Bamboo and food trucks. If you can't make it, parts of the program will be repeated at a Chinese New Year celebration at Plaza Mariachi from 4:30-6 p.m. Feb. 16.
