#17 FILM & DISCUSSION monthly in October (Tues, 10/26/21, at 7 pm)

This month’s film is “The Last Emperor 末代皇帝,” directed by Bernardo Bertolucci in 1987. It is about the life of the last Emperor, Puyi, in China.  The film won 9 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and Best Director at the 60th Academy Awards. 

Moderator: Dr. Yuan-ling Chao, Professor of History, Middle TN State University.  Dr. Chao’s areas of expertise is history of medicine, social and cultural history in late imperial China.
